Committee Report

Boating Committee Report: Read by Monte Thus. Since I have been put on the Holiday Shores Board, I will be stepping down as Chairman of the Boating Committee. I sent out a request for anyone from the committee to assume that responsibility and no one was interested. I contacted Ben Kelley and he is willing to become Chairman of the Boating Committee. Currently he is President of the Holiday Shores Ski Club and plays a big part in the success of that organization. Besides spending a large portion of his time managing the Ski Club, teaching kids to ski, and driving for the ski shows, he is a hunter, fisherman, and loves boating on our lake. The Boating Committee would like to recommend Ben Kelley as the Chairperson of the Boating Committee. Dave Decker asks Monte if he sent this out to the current Boating Committee members and they approved of this recommendation. Monte Thus answers that once I spoke to Ben Kelley and he accepted, I then sent this to the other members of the Boating Committee and they had no objection.

Monte Thus motions to accept Ben Kelley as Chairperson of the Boating Committee. Roger Rawson seconds.

Action: Motion carried.

Old Business

Covenant Amendment Update

Dave Decker: We are still looking at needing just over 300. If anyone has a question as to whether theyÕve done it, please see me. I have my list and can check for you after the meeting.

Emergency Culvert Repair

Glenn Dalton: We were hoping to start on the road plan this week. Our contractor is currently waiting on Beelman to deliver the slag that we use in that process and they are behind. As soon as we get the slag, our road plan will be accomplished. We hope that will happen either later this week or early next week. At this point, we want to get it down as fast as we can. All of the culverts are in place except for the emergency repair. We are waiting on the contractor, who is going to help us with this first pipe, get back in town. We then have to order the pipe and install it. Dave Decker: We havenÕt even ordered the material yet? Glenn Dalton: No. We are waiting on his availability for after he gets back into town. Dave Decker: Does he come and inspect it or do we know what we need? Glenn Dalton: We just need him to be there to go with us on the installation of the first pipe. We will still order the material. We just have to find out when he is going to be available to help us install the pipe.

Restaurant Update

Dave Decker: ThereÕs no new information since the last Board meeting.

Committee Guidelines

Rich Hertel goes over the recommended revisions provided by committees. Conversation ensues regarding additional recommendations by the Board of Directors. Dave Decker: I would like to have a clean, revised copy of these guidelines before approval. Rich Hertel: I will provide a clean copy in a couple days.

Rip Rap Barge

Dave Decker: During the last meeting, we started talking about considering allowing a barge onto the lake to be utilized for delivery of materials to homeowners to install seawalls from the water side. Does anyone have anything they would like to discuss about this? Glenn Dalton: We had three members express interest in having this service. Roger Rawson: Did we ever get any information from the place in Springfield? Glenn Dalton: We tried to get the data off of the website but we havenÕt spoken to them as of yet. Rich Hertel: Are you going to post this in the Holiday Times to ask members for responses? Glenn Dalton: Yes. Rich Hertel: Is there a magic number of people that have to be interested in order for this to happen? Glenn Dalton: One of the vendors is looking for 10-12 interested members before they will consider coming out here. We will post an information page in the Holiday Times. Dave Decker: If we decide we want to allow this, we will need to put restrictions or guidelines on it to say it can only be done once a year or once a month, for example. I think the Board would have to decide on some guidelines for this. I think it is important that we understand the structure that needs to be associated with this if we choose to go down this path. I have lots of concerns with this. Roger Rawson: We have only received information from one vendor who has a fairly large barge. I know there is an operator out of Springfield, IL called JLS Marine that has a much smaller barge. He is a smaller operator and may have a smaller footprint. I think it would be beneficial to look into this company. Rich Hertel: Who is going to do the actual bid to determine how much rock is needed at a particular partyÕs house? Glenn Dalton: The contractor that is doing it will make the determination as to what material requirements are necessary for the job. It would be between the contractor and the homeowner to agree. Dave Decker: In my opinion, if we approve this, the only thing we should be doing is setting up the guidelines. We shouldnÕt be involved in any bidding or scheduling. They should only just notify us when they are coming out. Rich Hertel: I agree. Glenn Dalton: We would also check for eco-friendly fluids and other items.
